Top tips to help you be Kind to Your Mind
There are lots of little things we can all do to give our minds an easier time.

Talk to someone
No matter how you feel or what’s on your mind, sharing how you feel is often the best way to relieve pressure and feel better – especially if you’re in crisis.

Listen to music
Music can help reduce pain, anxiety, and blood pressure, or boost your energy and mood – and is often a powerful way of reconnecting with yourself.

Breathe
Breathing techniques of all kinds can help reduce anxiety, and they don’t have to be complicated. Just finding some space and taking deep breaths can help you feel calmer and less overwhelmed.

Stay active
Walking, running, biking, stretching – all kinds of movement have valuable benefits to brain and body, releasing feel-good hormones and supporting good sleep.

Get some green
Sunlight and the colours of nature – especially green – give our brains a valuable chemical lift. Even sitting in a park will give your mind a natural boost.

Check-in on your health
Your body and your mind are parts of a whole, and self-care is a way of checking-in with yourself, seeing what might need a bit of attention, and being honest with yourself about how you feel.

Be aware of your diet
Eating well often slips down the list of priorities when our moods dip, with comfort food replacing nutrition. But eating well and feeling well are closely related, so try not to neglect your diet.

Enjoy time with friends
Even when we don\’t feel like being sociable, time with friends can be a huge boost to our mood and wellbeing. A chat and a laugh nourishes us in ways few other things can.

Protect your sleep
We need between 7-10 hours sleep each night – and the better the quality of that sleep the better our mood is likely to be. Give your body and mind the best chance to reboot with a sleep routine that really works.

Reduce screen time
Overdoing screen time is proven to impact our mental wellbeing, whether that\’s late night games or doomscrolling social media. If you struggle to limit yourself, try looking into phone settings or dedicated apps that can help.

Drink plenty of water
Being dehydrated is another stress your brain and body could do without, so keep that water bottle topped up as an act of daily kindness.
